2011 Seattle Wine Awards — Award Winners

On April 16th & 17th, 15 of Washington's most prominent wine professionals gathered at Seattle's historic Rainier Club to taste and evaluate white, red, sweet, sparkling and rosé wines produced from Washington grapes. The top wines were recognized with Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze Grand Awards of Excellence. Congratulations to the 2011 award-winning wineries.

New Tasting Room in Downtown Friday Harbor

San Juan Vineyards is happy to announce the opening of our new Tasting Room. Located at 65 Spring St., this is a fun, happening spot with lots of room, wine barrel ambiance, and features a Baby Grand Piano. As with our tasting room out at the Vineyard, our award winning wines will be available for taste and by the glass.

The Baby Grand Piano belonged to Steve Swanberg, one of SJV founders who lost his battle to cancer in 2006. It is the piano Steve had since his youth.

As a tribute to Steve, Yvonne picked the theme, "piano and wine" for this new tasting room. We will be inviting local pianists to play on select days for your listening and sipping pleasure. We will also invite anyone who terms themselves as "accomplished" to sit and play. That is, "accomplished" before wine!!

Emily Trujillo, Donna Baldwin and Joseph Foriska will be part of our staff as we open our first Downtown location; with Emily being the Tasting Room Manager. Drop by and say "hi" and enjoy some of our award winning wines.

The Piano and Wine Tasting Room will be open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please call 378-9452 for more information, or to reserve the Tasting Room for special events, gatherings or parties.
