2009 Siegerrebe

The Siegerrebe is a wonderful, summertime entertaining wine. Hints of floral bouquet and lychee on the nose with melon, mango, and citrus on the palate. It has a lingering, dry finish. Siegerrebe is a great food wine for sauteed prawns and a Seattle Fish Stew!!
The 2009 Siegerrebe is 100% Estate grown. A Silver medal was awarded at Seattle Wine Awards, May, 2010.
Growing and Winemaking:
The Siegerrebe is a German and Austrian varietal, a cross between Madeleine Angevine and Gewurztraminer, which is grown where temperatures are cooler such as our Puget Sound area. It is a great growing grape for our Puget Sound Appellation of which we are a part. The Siegerrebe is a beautiful fruit looking like Gewurztraminer in the vineyard. It is delicious!!
Food Pairing: Yes, we have worked successfully pairing the Siegerrebe with many Shellfish entrees. The Siegerrebe pairs best with Sauteed Prawns with a lemon/caper sauce served over pasta, a Prawn appetizer, Crab Cakes, a light Clam Chowder, or a Bouillabaisse. And, remember to add a bit and a sip while you are preparing the meal.
