SAN JUAN VINEYARDS 2004 CABERNET-SYRAH
We blended the 2004 Cabernet-Sauvignon and Syrah to make a lively, jammy wine.
The Cabernet-Syrah is upfront with lots of fruit flavor – blackberry, plum and bing
cherry; the fruit mingles to a cherry and oak finish.
The Cab-Syrah is enjoyable now or can be aged for three to five years adding interest
to the finish and structure.
The fruit is all from the Columbia Valley harvested in October of 2004 (October 18 for
the Syrah and October 27 for the Cabernet). All fruit is from Kestrel View Estates
in Prosser, Washington. The fruit arrived at San Juan Vineyards the morning after
the pick, and the crush began. The grapes were open top fermented and aged in
100% Hungarian Oak for 16 months.
The Cabernet-Syrah has done exceptionally well in competitions, and has won Three
Gold Medals along with a Silver. Here come the Judges:
GOLD Medals at WA Wine Competition, Tasters Guild, and Indy Intn'l Wine Competition, and a
SILVER Medal at the prestigious Seattle Wine Competition.
